Job description:
The Protein Signalling Program at the Center for Protein Research (CPR) offers a one-year researcher position to start 8 September 2023 or after agreement. The position is financially supported by a grant from the Duxin laboratory aimed at studying the role and functions of an actin interacting protein in the DNA damage response.
The candidate will be part of the Duxin laboratory and will primarily use Xenopus egg extract as a model system. The candidate will employ proteome mass spectrometry approaches that will be combined with the power of the Xenopus system. These include utilizing and developing many different methods of molecular biology, biochemistry and computational analysis.
The candidate will also have access to all the state-of-the art facilities present at CPR including the Mass Spectrometry, Protein Imaging, Big Data Management and Protein Production platforms.
Qualifications
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience:
- Candidates are required to have a PhD degree in science or equivalent.
- Previous experience in Molecular biology, Biochemistry or Chemistry is required.
- Prior publication in internationally recognized journals is required.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, motivation, and flexibility.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Prior experience with mass spectrometry analysis
The employment is at CPR (www.cpr.ku.dk) , a Novo Nordisk Foundation center of excellence established in 2007 and embedded in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, to promote basic and applied research on human proteins of medical relevance. Terms of employment
The employment as researcher is a full time and fixed-term position for 1 year. Starting date is 8 September 2023 or after agreement.
Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisation. Currently, the monthly salary starts at 36,291 DKK/approx. 4,869 EUR (April 2023 level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1 % to your pension fund.
Foreign and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions, if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.
The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.
